About the role
This position is in Midland, Texas working in the Permian Basin oil fields. We are looking for oil field experienced, self-motivated, assertive, dependable individuals. Driving to, between, and from locations in the field daily is required in the Permian Basin of Texas and New Mexico.
Schedule
- 8 days on, 6 days off
- 10 hours per day
- Overtime varies
Responsibilities
- Onsite startup, services, troubleshooting, and documentation
- Onsite PLC/HMI troubleshooting and programming
- Onsite ROC troubleshooting and programming
- Onsite Total Flow troubleshooting and programming
- Onsite instrument troubleshooting and programming
- Onsite SCADA point-to-point and mapping configuration and verification
- Onsite radio troubleshooting and programming
Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in Instrumentation/Automation/Controls or related program
- Four years’ experience in oil field automation with PLC, HMI, and instrumentation
- Understanding of oil field automation concepts related to: CTB, SWD, Well pad, LACT, Compressor, Pipeline, Storage
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be able to pass follicle drug test if required
Skills
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
Knowledge and experience in at least one or more of the following:
- Rockwell Automation, Schneider, IDEC, Direct Logix, GE PLC programming applications
- RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, Connected Components Workbench
- Telepace, Workbench, SoMove, Unity Pro
- Automation Organizer
- Direct Soft, Click, Productivity
- Proficy Machine Edition
Flow Computers and RTU devices
Knowledge and experience in at least one or more of the following:
- ROC FB and 800 series, ABB Totalflow and RMC
- Flow Computer, RTU, Flow Meter, Level Transmitter, HART Software
- ROCLINK, PCCU, Emerson Field Tools, Radar Master, PacWare
Human Machine Interface (HMI)
Knowledge and experience in at least one or more of the following:
- Rockwell Automation, Schneider, IDEC, RedLion, Maples, Beijer
- Factory Talk View ME/SE, Vijeo, Automation Organizer, Crimson, EZwarePlus, EBPro, ROCLINK, iX developer
- Ignition, WonderWare, Cygnet
Microsoft Office
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneDrive, Teams
Communications
Knowledge and experience in at least one or more of the following:
- Ethernet and Serial wired Hardware: Cat5 and Cat6 termination and patch cables
- Ethernet to serial and/or fiber converters: Prosoft, Redlion, Moore Industries
- Ethernet managed and unmanaged switches
- Fiber connection types and modes
- RS232, RS422, RS485
- HART loop
- Ethernet and Serial software protocols: MODBUS, TCP/IP, DeviceNet, CAN
- Wireless: Cambium, Freewave, Zeta, MDS Emerson, Oleumtech, Vega
Instrumentation Knowledge
- Level Sensors/Radar, Float Sticks
- Pressure Sensors
- Flow Meters: Coriolis, magnetic, ultrasonic, turbine
- 4-20mA devices
- Variable Frequency Drives programming and troubleshooting
- Ability to read blueprints and P&ID drawings
- Multi-meter both voltage and current application
