About the role

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' Baltimore and Partnered Sites (BaPs) division is seeking a Systems Integration & Test (SI&T) Engineer (Level 2) in Baltimore, MD to support test and verification activities of RF sensor systems. As part of our Engineering and Sciences organization, you will work on revolutionary systems that push the boundaries of innovation in radar, communications, and signal intelligence for advanced U.S. defense programs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on integration and testing of sophisticated RF sensor systems, including both hardware and software components in development and production environments.
  • Synthesize internal and external customer needs and requirements into system tests that acknowledge technical and schedule constraints.
  • Participate in the development and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for verifying system requirements.
  • Engage in I&T readiness reviews, design reviews, and conduct audits of I&T program facilities.
  • Coordinate integrated testing activities, including environmental, reliability, and occasional flight tests.
  • Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of the test program.
  • Perform analysis of test results and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Use modeling and simulation tools to expedite testing of individual units before all system components are available, and for troubleshooting and repair of failed units.
  • Support integration, troubleshooting, and testing of RF sensor systems.
  • Support integration environment development and establishment (Labs).
  • Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware teams to understand expected unit-level and system-level behavior, define test cases, and develop test capabilities.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure testing produces expected data points.
  • Support the development and maintenance of system integration plans and system test plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline. 4 additional years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain/maintain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Experience with RF lab test equipment (e.g., signal generator, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer).
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software/firmware integration problems.
  • Experience coding in MATLAB to support test scripting, data analysis, and signal processing.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Experience working on a system bench, running acceptance test plans, writing test reports, troubleshooting hardware and software, and communicating status updates.
  • Experience with environmental, EMI/EMC integration, and testing.
  • Willingness to work 3rd shift.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in Baltimore, MD.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance or higher.
  • Previous experience working on a Special Access Program.
  • Knowledge integrating and testing software written in C, C++.
  • Knowledge of radar systems.
  • Knowledge of firmware and hardware control integration planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems design and implementation.
  • Experience developing scripts in Python to automate manual processes.
  • Understanding of systems engineering concepts, including requirements analysis and verification planning and execution.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to qualify for program access based on customer requirements (SAP/SAR).

Pay

Primary salary range: $87,600.00 – $131,400.00. Base salary offers consider scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Vice Presidents and Directors may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
