About the Role

We are seeking a Sr Principal Systems Engineer to support the IFICS Data Terminal (IDT) product team on the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GMS) program. The ideal candidate will have a track record of progressively challenging responsibilities, initiative, and innovative problem-solving. You should be a self-starter with proven leadership skills, adaptability, and the ability to deliver results in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to RF communications terminal hardware, including hardware-to-software interfaces and fault condition definitions.
  • Troubleshoot complex systems integrating hardware, software, and RF communications.
  • Support RF system path alignment and testing using equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and power meters.
  • Review system log files to investigate and resolve field-reported hardware or software issues.
  • Interpret hardware assembly drawings, parts lists, and system/rack interconnect cabling diagrams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8+ years of related experience, a Master’s degree with 6+ years, or a PhD with 4+ years.
  • Background in RF communications terminal hardware, including experience with hardware-software interfaces and fault conditions.
  • Hands-on experience with RF system testing, troubleshooting, and alignment using test equipment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Secret clearance (minimum interim required to start).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on DoD programs.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 and Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT).
  • Experience with Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA).
  • Knowledge of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) per MIL-STD-461 and Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) per MIL-STD-464.
  • Experience with High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) per MIL-STD-188-125-1 and MIL-STD-188-125-2.
  • Experience with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) per MIL-HDBK-344.

Pay

Base salary range: $135,800 – $203,600. Offers are determined based on experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differentials, discretionary bonuses, annual performance-based bonuses, and long-term incentives (for VP/Director roles).
