About the Role

Raytheon’s Advanced Products & Solutions (APS) is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to serve as the Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) for a development program. This leadership role drives robust engineering execution, ensures contractual and technical requirements are met, and strengthens customer and supplier relationships in a complex environment. The IPTL collaborates daily with the engineering team to maintain milestone focus, manage competing priorities, and report program status to both Raytheon leadership and the customer community.

Responsibilities

  • Meet contractual commitments for financial, technical, and schedule performance within company expectations.
  • Report business metrics, including Estimates At Complete (EAC), to program and functional leadership.
  • Provide technical execution leadership for system design, development, integration, testing, verification, qualification, and delivery to meet performance requirements.
  • Communicate program status, accomplishments, issues, and support needs to Raytheon leadership and the customer community.
  • Contribute to developing and aligning on a common program vision and execution strategies as a member of the Program Leadership Team.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risks or capture opportunities proactively.
  • Mentor and guide team members.
  • Travel approximately 10% to support the program.

Requirements

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Program Management and/or Integrated Product Team (IPT) execution within the Defense Industry.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in the Defense Industry, including two or more disciplines such as Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Procurement/Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, Quality Management, or administrative functions.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), or Risk and Opportunity Management.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government security clearance required prior to start date, with the ability to obtain special program access after start.
  • U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading development and maintenance activities across multiple program sites.
  • Experience with Supplier Management.
  • Experience leading Systems, Hardware, or Software Engineering Teams.
  • Experience with Agile Lifecycle Management tools, preferably Jira.
  • Excellent presentation and proposal skills.
  • Experience in the Electronic Warfare domain.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $132,400 – $251,600 USD. The range reflects all experience levels, and RTX considers factors such as role, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills when extending an offer.
