Systems Engineer with Security Clearance
About the role
The Systems Engineer supports the office in managing a hybrid-cloud mission infrastructure, hosting applications and a large data lake. They are responsible for decomposing customer requirements into technical solutions, guiding systems through security accreditation, and creating essential documentation.
Responsibilities
- Decompose customer requirements into technical solutions, considering architectural impacts, performance, and life cycle costs.
- Aid in project estimation, scheduling, and cost analysis for cloud solutions.
- Manage storage, security, and maintenance of data, including patching, upgrades, and monitoring physical infrastructure.
- Use forensic software such as Cellebrite, XRY, WinHex, FTK, and Autopsy.
- Utilize bash scripting and command lines using Ubuntu and RedHat.
- Design and install storage systems in multi-petabyte environments.
- Troubleshoot, patch, and update various instances of Windows, manage Active Directory, and support users.
- Install, maintain, and configure Aspera Enterprise Server and Aspera P2P.
- Maintain, configure, and administer MongoDB databases.
- Analyze existing systems and identify necessary corrective actions and improvements.
- Perform server installation, rack or capacity planning, facility and space management, equipment commissioning, and decommissioning.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) used by technical and non-technical personnel.
- Teach digital forensics to large audiences of diverse backgrounds.
- Create, maintain, and share curated work data.
- Provide aftercare support, such as integration support for previously installed software and programs.
- Perform tier 1 through tier 3 support, including both systems troubleshooting and incident tracking and management.
- Serve as an Engineering Lead, coordinating, scheduling, deconflicting, and resolving conflicts between IT engineering projects.
- Use Sponsor's digital forensic triage application.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience using forensic software such as Cellebrite, XRY, WinHex, FTK, and Autopsy.
Demonstrated experience utilizing bash scripting and bash command lines using Ubuntu and RedHat.
Demonstrated experience using Storage system installation design and architecture in multi-petabyte environments.
Demonstrated experience using various instances of Windows - troubleshooting, patching, updates, managing Active Directory, supporting users, and supporting security posture.
Demonstrated experience installing, maintaining, and configuring Aspera Enterprise Server and Aspera P2P.
Demonstrated experience maintaining, configuring, and administering MongoDB databases.
Demonstrated experience analyzing existing systems and identifying necessary corrective actions and improvements.
Demonstrated hands-on experience performing server installation, rack or capacity planning, facility and space management, equipment commissioning, and decommissioning.
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain SOP documentation used by technical and non-technical personnel.
Demonstrated ability to teach digital forensics to large audiences of diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining, and sharing curated work data.
Demonstrated experience providing aftercare support, such as integration support for previously installed software and programs.
Demonstrated experience performing tier 1 through tier 3 support, including both systems troubleshooting and incident tracking and management.
Demonstrated hands-on experience serving as an Engineering Lead, coordinating, scheduling, deconflicting, and resolving conflicts between IT engineering projects.
Demonstrated experience using Sponsor's digital forensic triage application.
