About the role

Ensure the safety and security of our nation as a Systems Engineer at GDIT. You’ll apply the latest technology and provide operational support to deliver actionable intelligence for the Intelligence Community. Support the deployment of systems and capabilities centered on a comprehensive motion imagery software suite. Operate within a non-internet accessible on-prem hybrid environment built primarily on Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an array of skills within the DevOps discipline
  • Development and/or scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, Java, C#, etc.)
  • Linux OS experience
  • Systems engineering experience
  • Source code management tools (Git, etc.) and artifact repositories (Nexus/Artifactory, container registries, etc.)
  • Automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Rundeck, etc.
  • Build/packaging tools such as Gradle, Maven, Poetry, etc.
  • Employ DevSecOps principles, including strict configuration management, configuration-as-code, and continuous delivery
  • Build, secure, and operate containers in a dynamic environment
  • Work in a Kubernetes-based environment, including:
    • Basic understanding of how Kubernetes works
    • Using and/or administering Kubernetes clusters
    • Building and deploying workloads using Helm
  • Knowledge of container and Linux host networking
  • Experience with Apache Kafka
  • Experience with Elastic stack
  • Problem-solving in complex environments

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related DevOps engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, OR equivalent 14 years job-related experience
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, interpersonal, and team-building skills

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $153,000 - $207,000. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements.
