About the role
Lockheed Martin is seeking a skilled Level 3 Systems Engineer with an active TS/SCI security clearance to work from our Herndon, VA location. The Stormbreaker Operations team is seeking a highly motivated Software Systems Engineer to direct all phases of verification, testing, and installation of software changes and hardware component changes to a large, complex information system. The Test Director is expected to perform work without appreciable direction, meet technical results, quality, and schedule objectives, and thoroughly understand and apply technical principles to solve moderately complex problems.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects pertaining to software testing and transition, ensuring schedules, activities, requirements, and resources are properly coordinated.
- Participation in test status meetings and review boards.
- Author Problem Reports.
- Test plan development.
- Coordination with end users.
- Enterprise verification and test procedure management (development, release, and maintenance).
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
- Perform analyses at all levels of total system product including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
- Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Coordinate and conduct segment level and multi-segment testing.
- Define test requirements and system transition procedures.
- Conduct external segment interface verification.
- Develop, write, and issue test documents.
- Coordinate and schedule system resources to support testing.
- Conduct test and operational demo planning.
- Chair or participate in Test Status Meetings.
- Support integration and planning of future deliveries and systems.
- Support system anomalies as required.
- Participate in engineering review boards.
- Coordinate and support off-hours testing for associated projects.
Requirements
- Experience performing Systems Integration and Test engineering.
- Experience evaluating/troubleshooting test failures using diagnostic methods and tools.
- Experience with testing methodology of complex information systems as well as software problem reporting and configuration management tools.
- Active TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance required for consideration.
Qualifications
- Software Systems risk analysis experience.
- Requirements verification experience.
- Prior Customer / Mission experience.
- Stormbreaker experience including knowledge of Stormbreaker mission software desired.
- Experience with Agile Software Processes in an O&M environment.
- Current TS/SCI clearance.

For Washington state applicants only: Non-represented full-time employees accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) and receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month, accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually, and receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $95,900.00 - $178,100.00. The salary range is a general guideline and considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and market considerations.
