Systems Engineer Sr

Responsibilities

• Evaluate hardware and software to ensure mission success.
• Develop and/or update Preliminary Hazard List (PHL), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Functional Hazard Analyses (FHAs), System Hazard Analyses (SHA), and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR).
• Prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings.
• Support the development and updating of System Safety documents to support Customer, Range Safety, and contractual requirements.
• Review and provide input to test procedures for adherence to System Safety requirements.
• Cover coordination with test range safety teams and writing range safety reports to support testing.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of a Hazard Tracking System (HTS) used to document real and potential hazards, their assessments, and their respective mitigation’s.
• Create Fault Trees to support Safety Board Interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an engineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of System Safety Standards.
• Experience with hazard identification, analysis, risk mitigation, and associated deliverable documentation.
• Ability to obtain Secret Clearance and US Citizenship required.

Desired Skills

• Experience using MIL-STD-882E, SSMAN 91-710, NASA GSFC-STD-8009, or other relevant industry and/or range safety standards.
• Range safety experience (tailoring, on-site safety, and/or range safety working groups).
• Experience participating/presenting in DoD System Safety Working Groups and Safety Boards.
• Familiarity with DOORS and/or Cameo.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and interact in group meeting/working environments with team members, development organizations, and customers.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00
