Systems Engineer IV - Cloud Engineering Lead

The Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic is anticipating a new contract award with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) to support the Clinical Information Modernization (CIM) Integrated Product Team (IPT). This work will focus on the Clinical Infrastructure Modernization Program Lifecycle Environment (CIMPLE) project, which supports the DHA Private Cloud (DPC), Application Virtualization Hosting Environment (AVHE), and DevSecOps Community Cloud (DSOCC).

Position Description

The Cloud Engineering Lead is responsible for leading the team in support of support and sustainment strategies for cloud computing instantiations, providing subject matter expertise in AWS GovCloud and Microsoft Azure GovCloud. The candidate must have experience in cloud computing technologies and be able to integrate the existing on-premise environment with current and future cloud computing instantiations.

• Provide subject matter expertise on multiple cloud services including IaaS, PaaS, DBaaS, SaaS, and FEDRAMP.
• Aid the government in the architectural design and engineering of cloud technologies, identifying areas for efficiency and cost reduction.
• Perform installation and configuration of hardware and software for server virtualization environments, adhering to industry standards.
• Test new versions of cloud technologies software in pre-production lab environments, including regression testing on standard configurations.
• Recommend and execute upgrade processes for both pre-production lab environments and production environments, following program change management processes.
• Maintain standard configurations and manage patches and platform versions across both pre-production and production environments.
• Provide technical support for cloud technologies on a 24x7 basis to ensure rapid problem resolution and maximum uptime.
• Support IAVA/STIG/DoD policy implementations and documentation for cloud technologies platforms, including RA and RMF.
• Write and maintain architecture diagrams, network boundary diagrams, and installation configuration guides.

  Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in DoD enterprise environments or master’s degree with 8+ years of experience in DoD enterprise environments.
  • Currently holds an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Strong writing and attention to detail.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience with DevSecOps.
    • Knowledge of AWS GovCloud and Microsoft Azure GovCloud.

    Pay Range

    $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
