Responsibilities
- Identify, describe, and apply emerging IT acquisition strategies, best practices, IT-related performance measures, and quality management in support of acquisition planning, information assurance/cybersecurity, test and evaluation processes, verification and validation processes, and/or fielding and sustaining of IT/software systems.
- Conduct reviews on program portfolios to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baselines, and design/perform system-level tests to assure subsystem and system performance meets approved specifications.
- Perform program reviews to evaluate proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design, and test results to ensure subsystem and system performance aligns with program specifications.
- Prepare technical documentation defining, specifying, and recommending system/subsystem characteristics.
- Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective action using engineering principles.
- Perform validation of software systems, including developing analyses/evaluation criteria and procedures, analyzing/evaluating results, and providing related recommendations.
- Provide Agile and Digital system/program engineering, technical support, and technical training to support programs/initiatives such as acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, evolution, deployment/fielding, installation, and operations oversight.
- Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with AF Systems Engineering Assessment Model (SEAM) processes.
- Perform all (system) engineering according to applicable DoD, AF, AFMC directives, instructions, and manuals, including but not limited to AFI 63-101, AFMAN 63-144, AFMCI 63-1202, AFMAN 63-128, AF/99-103, and their updates or successors.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge, experience, and recognized ability as an expert in a technical/professional field, with the ability to perform tasks and oversee junior and mid-level personnel.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of a technical/professional discipline, including comprehensive understanding and application of associated standards, procedures, and practices.
- One of the following:
- Advanced Degree (MA/MS) or Doctorate from an ABET-accredited program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another Engineering Discipline, plus 10 years of experience (5 of which must be in the DoD).
- BA/BS Degree from an ABET-accredited program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another Engineering Discipline, plus 12 years of experience in the respective discipline (5 of which must be in the DoD).
- 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications (8 of which must be in the DoD).
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Current U.S. Citizenship.
- Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (or Associate) or AWS Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Azure equivalent.
- Current certification in Oracle/OCI products and/or databases.
- CompTIA Security+ CE (Required).
- Agile/Scrum Certifications (Desired).
