About the role

This position is part of the Technical Specialist career stream: an individual contributor role responsible for advancing existing technology or introducing new technology and therapies. Formulates, delivers, and/or manages projects while working with stakeholders to achieve desired results. May mentor colleagues or direct the work of lower-level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems, or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies—from design to implementation—while adhering to policies and using specialized knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation; evaluates alternatives including cost, risk, supportability, and analyses for total systems.
• Conducts analyses at all levels of total system product, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
• Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience.
• For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the Medical Device Product Development Lifecycle.
• Expertise in Neuroscience, Surgical Navigation, and/or Cranial Spinal Technologies.

Pay

Salary ranges for U.S. locations (excluding Puerto Rico): $88,800.00 – $133,200.00 USD. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on experience, certifications/education, market conditions, and location. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
