About the role
The Systems Engineer II - API manufacturing position provides operational support as part of a cross-functional IT Infrastructure team, assisting in the maintenance and administration of automated control and IT systems for manufacturing API site projects and future operations. Responsibilities include configuring, installing, and maintaining automation equipment control systems and computer information systems throughout the facility, including site ERP systems and SAP.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with IT network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, WAPs, etc.) and infrastructure systems (Monitoring Tools, Network Management systems, etc.)
- Hands-on with hardware and software including server room and patch room build outs
- Operate infrastructure networks equipment/systems under FDA regulations and guidelines as they relate to computer-based information and automation systems
- Provide tier 1-2 IT network support, including after-hours
- Provide tier 1-2 server administration/support for onsite virtual servers
- Provide tier 1 support of site ERP system, SAP, including iDOC monitoring, analysis, and resolution
- Liaison between Site end users and HQ end user support for site ERP system, SAP
- Ad-hoc production support and after-hours support to the site for IT related issues
- Maintain inventory control of patch cables, video cables, peripherals, and other IT items
- Maintain network/infrastructure documentation in accordance with corporate requirements
- Support backup/restore processes for manufacturing systems
- Interact with equipment and service vendors for troubleshooting, installation, improving reliability, and/or efficiency purposes
- Perform life-cycle system management tasks in conjunction with corporate IT teams for network and infrastructure systems
- Participate in corporate infrastructure guidance groups
- Provide superior customer service
- Identify, report, and may recommend corrective action for any unsafe conditions to a supervisor or department manager
- Adhere to safety procedures including, but not limited to, wearing product-specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, safety glasses, lock out, confined space, and other company policies and procedures
- Follow all cGMPs and ensure that product is manufactured according to procedure and current Good Manufacturing Practices
- Maintain training readiness
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from an accredited university required
- May consider an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from an accredited college and seven (7) years of experience implementing & administering networks in a medium-to-large enterprise environment and supporting Windows based virtual servers
- May consider a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of nine (9) years of experience implementing & administering networks in a medium-to-large enterprise environment and supporting Windows based virtual servers
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in support of production operations preferred
- Certification in a networking infrastructure discipline (e.g., CCENT, Network +)
- Experience supporting Windows based virtual servers
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, food, cosmetic, beverage or relevant work
- Certification in a networking infrastructure discipline (e.g., CCENT, Network +)
- Experience with SAP
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with VMWare
