About the role

The Space & Airborne Center within Systems Integration & Test seeks talented Systems Engineers in El Segundo, CA to integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer.

You will work on back-end sustainment and repair design, transitioning systems through integration and test from production to warranty/sustainment. Responsibilities include functional/physical analysis, allocation, trade studies, Radar Mode requirement verification, engineering testing, integration, flight-testing, production, system deployment, and post-deployment support in a hands-on laboratory environment. You will use Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development methods, develop/execute test procedures, and identify/isolate anomalies to hardware, software, or system interfaces.

This is an onsite role in El Segundo, CA. Test event support may require travel, not expected to exceed 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning and execution of Integration, Verification, and Validation Test activities in labs or the field.
  • Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes; use advanced lab or field test equipment.
  • Handle system hardware modules or units, some with the use of support equipment.
  • Complete detailed system or software test data records, including analysis tools such as MATLAB.
  • Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders.
  • Manage engineering support activities related to test and troubleshoot of hardware.
  • Interpret and maintain design specifications and drawings (Schematics & Assembly Drawings).
  • Maintain engineering databases.
  • Support the development of system technical solutions with Engineering teams.
  • Provide support to Engineering Integrated Product Team Leads via periodic team meetings, working group meetings, and individual tasks.

Qualifications

You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Experience with troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, including use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
  • Experience with tools such as Microsoft Office, MATLAB, or Python for data analysis and automation. Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

We Prefer

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, with coursework in RF electronics.
  • Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols.
  • Experience with reading and integrating software routines with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C# preferred.
  • Experience with using telemetry data collection equipment to capture real-time data and/or real-time monitoring.
  • Experience with instrumentation and collection of large data sets, including scripting or automation for data collection and analysis.

Pay

The salary range for this role is 62,900 USD – 119,700 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
