Systems Engineer - Avionics Systems Safety

Responsibilities

• Support the development and management of system safety requirements, ensuring proper allocation, traceability, validation, and verification
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, software, hardware, safety, and certification engineering
• Support system design and architecture activities to ensure safety considerations are incorporated early and throughout development
• Contribute to systems integration efforts, identifying and addressing safety impacts across interfaces and subsystems
• Perform or support system safety analyses, including: Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Common Mode Analysis (CMA)
• Support compliance with applicable aerospace safety standards and regulatory guidance
• Aid in the creation of technical documentation, reviews, and certification artifacts in accordance with Honeywell processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
• 2+ years of Systems Engineering / Safety Engineering experience
• Knowledge of systems development lifecycle
• Knowledge in any of the following is of value: CAFTA experience, Part 25 aircraft exposure, Flight control safety experience, System safety analyses (e.g. FHA, FTA, FMEA, CMA, etc)
