About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer to lead the development and integration of space-based optical and infrared systems.
Responsibilities
- Developing system architecture and design plans, managing specifications, and generating technical documents.
- Leading technical analysis, verification, requirements buy-off, and end item data packages.
- Providing technical leadership across project lifecycles, coordinating cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Supporting test, design verification, risk assessments, and process improvements using model-based systems engineering tools.
- Engaging in proposal development and program planning activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years or graduate degree with 10+ years of relevant experience; 16+ years without degree.
- Extensive systems engineering experience with space payloads, EO/IR systems, and electromechanical components.
- Experience in leading large space programs, managing technical teams, and working with space-based EO/IR subsystems.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
- Expertise in optical, electrical, or mechanical engineering disciplines
