What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
- Define and manage system and subsystem requirements for Peak’s battery energy storage system products
- Create and own system-level budgets, decomposing top-level requirements into subsystem allocations
- Create and oversee verification of requirements including determining test plans, analyzing and reviewing results, providing the final say on the outcome of the verification
- Drive future architecture changes, evaluate tradeoffs on, and lead cross-functional decision-making efforts
- Support and mentor fellow engineers by communicating system-level impacts to inform and improve their designs
- Act as the subject matter expert for customer-facing documents such as service and operation manuals and technical reports
- Support UL, NFPA, and UN compliance efforts, providing technical expertise and guidance
What You'll Bring (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years working with high voltage electrical systems
- Mastery of electrical, thermal, and mechanical fundamentals
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (requirement decomposition, verification and validation, interface management)
- Strong analysis tool skills (e.g. Excel, Python, MATLAB)
- Experience evaluating complex, multi-disciplinary tradeoffs and driving cross-functional decision making
- Excellent organization and proficiency at creating robust and informative documentation
- Cross-functional project management experience
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills
- Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and driving positive environmental impact through technology innovation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high voltage battery systems
- Product design experience with high-volume products
- Experience with a requirements management tool (e.g. Jama, Polarion, Flow)
- Proficiency with Jira for task tracking and documentation
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this role is $170,000-$200,000 with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills. Our competitive benefits package includes:
