About the role
This role is part of a team supporting advanced defense and space-related programs focused on early-phase systems engineering, concept development, requirements definition, and system architecture. It is particularly focused on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering activities across the Systems Engineering Development Lifecycle (SEDLC)
- Support concept development, requirements decomposition, and system design activities
- Develop and maintain system models using MBSE methodologies and tools such as Cameo
- Develop and manage system interfaces, ICDs, and IDDs
- Work directly with customers to elicit, analyze, and refine system requirements
- Support engineering technical reviews and development of technical documentation
- Collaborate within Agile Scrum teams and integrated engineering environments
- Provide technical leadership and support for high-visibility engineering activities
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to engineering teams, leadership, and customers
- Support long-term program objectives with minimal supervision
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance required
- Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 7+ years of experience
- Strong background in systems engineering across the full development lifecycle
- Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools such as Cameo
- Experience developing system concepts, requirements, and system models
- Experience with system interfaces and interface documentation (ICDs/IDDs)
- Experience working directly with customers and technical stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Ability to work effectively in secure, classified environments
Qualifications
- Experience supporting Missile Defense System programs
- Experience with Space Defense or Space Domain Awareness systems
- Experience supporting complex Command and Control (C2) systems with networking components
- Experience serving in project leadership roles or as a primary technical point of contact
- Background supporting high-visibility programs with significant schedule and mission impact
- Experience working on programs where engineering performance directly impacts major organizational objectives
