Opportunity
CACI Is seeking a cleared System Engineer to support an, Army Product Manager at Fort Belvoir, VA, with a focus on counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (c-UAS). Secret clearance is required.
Responsibilities
- Manage systems engineering activities including requirements analyses, functional analyses, design solutions formulation, systems analysis and control, and generation and maintenance of systems architecture products.
- Apply system engineering principles and procedures to translate quantified needs/requirements into system performance parameters and the identification of system/item configuration.
- Formulate and issue systems engineering documents, processes, procedures and milestones.
- Provide advice affecting critical programs and technologies
- Serve as subject matter expert for technical aspects of assigned program.
- Perform top level design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Help translate military operational and mission requirements into practical system concepts and performance specifications.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation such as specifications, engineering drawings, system interface requirements, and engineering changes.
- May participate in post awards, program reviews, design reviews, and IPTs as the project engineer and/or technical expert on assigned programs.
- Help evaluate design efforts to ensure integration of all the engineering disciplines and adequacy of the analyses performed, bringing in additional technical expertise as needed.
- Review test plans, procedures, and reports for technical adequacy on assigned programs, for both Government and contractor tests, as well as all failure reports.
- Review and evaluate system performance against specification requirements, monitor and assess field performance, and assess risk of meeting user and specification requirements.
- Initiate engineering change proposals and waivers/deviations as required, and conduct physical and functional configuration audits.
- Review program management documents to ensure accuracy and adequacy of technical content.
Required Qualifications
- Must have an Secret clearance
- BS Engineering and > 5 years relevant experience
- Manage Systems Engineering on assigned programs with oversight from Senior, Master Mechanical Engineer or Government Engineering lead
- Requires knowledge of the Systems Engineering Management Process and Implementation, as applied to the Department of Army/DOD Acquisition process throughout all life cycle phases; knowledge of DOD policies on Systems Engineering, Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD) and IPT Management; and ability to coordinate and negotiate design and engineering activities with other related programs and organizations.
Desired Qualifications
- BS Engineering and > 20 years relevant experience OR, MS Engineering Equivalent and > 15 years of experience
- Experience with the integration and deployment of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or Systems (UAV or UAS)
- Experience in the Integration of components on vehicle platforms with understanding ICDs and SWaP requirements
- Subject matter expert for Systems Engineering
- Ability to lead engineering efforts on assigned programs with minimal oversight from the Government lead
- Prior experience supporting an Army Program, Project, or Product Manager
