Systems Engineer
About the role
The Systems Engineer will conduct comprehensive systems engineering activities to support the WDP platform. This person will translate customer requirements into detailed system designs, develop and analyze system alternatives to recommend optimal solutions, and define user roles and personas to establish appropriate system access controls. This person will create and maintain system models, diagrams, and technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle. This person will perform trade studies to evaluate technical options against requirements, develop verification and validation procedures to ensure system compliance, and participate in technical reviews to assess design progress and quality. This person will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration, identify and mitigate technical risks before they impact delivery, and support the resolution of technical issues throughout the system lifecycle. This person will implement requirements traceability to verify all customer needs are addressed, conduct system performance analysis to optimize operations, and develop technical specifications for system components. This person will evaluate emerging technologies for potential system enhancements, support system testing activities, and contribute to continuous improvement of systems engineering processes and methodologies.
Requirements
- SECRET Security Clearance Required
- CSSLP, GCLD, or GSEC certification (for Junior/Journeyman roles)
- FITSP-D, GCSA, GISF, or SSCP (for Senior roles)
- Good communication skills, self-starter mindset
- Professional proficiency in English is required
- Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications

Experience levels
- Junior: 0 – 3 years of experience + Bachelor’s Degree
- Journeyman: 4 – 7 years of experience + Bachelor’s Degree
- Senior: 8+ years of experience + Bachelor’s Degree
Work environment
Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone and printers) and/or occasional loud noise (airfield, large equipment). Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
Physical demands

Pay
Salary at Avalore is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. Salary estimates for this job range from $97,000 – $181,000.
