Systems Engineer 3, Technical Solutions (US-East)
About the role
Technical Solutions Operations (“TSO”) manages the full lifecycle of enterprise platforms and internal tools that support the operations of the Technical Solutions team at Datadog. We are seeking a systems engineer to own and improve these platforms.
Responsibilities
- Understand and optimize enterprise systems through their entire lifecycle, from assessment to implementation.
- Design and implement solutions that leverage existing systems and integrate with Datadog’s internal tools and platforms.
- Contribute to the Datadog codebase to build and evolve enterprise systems, integrations, and internal tools that enhance the efficiency of the Technical Solutions team.
- Use AI coding tools to streamline development processes and improve the effectiveness of the team.
- Partner with TS leaders to identify and solve business problems affecting their teams, and engineer the necessary solutions.
- Maintain and monitor systems in production, diagnosing and resolving issues proactively.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience with enterprise platforms and production software.
- Experience administering, extending, or integrating systems like Salesforce, Zendesk, Jira, or similar.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Fluency with AI coding tools such as Copilot, Claude, or similar.
- Experience building AI-powered features, including working with LLMs, embeddings, RAG pipelines, or agent frameworks.
- Systems thinking and ability to design reliable, maintainable, and scalable solutions that integrate with multiple systems.
- Experience with technical support tooling or customer-facing business systems.
- Experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment.
Qualifications

- Background in technical support tooling or customer-facing business systems.
- Experience contributing to a large shared codebase with established engineering practices.
- Ability to work across the stack, building backend services, frontends, APIs, and setting up CI/CD pipelines.
