Amentum is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in Ft. Meade, MD, supporting challenging, mission-critical projects that directly impact the Nation’s security and intelligence mission.
About the Role
In this position, you will provide Systems Engineering and Technical Support for Identity Credential and Access Management (ICAM) for Zero Trust Implementation. The role involves working with technologies such as REST, Oracle/MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, JSON, XML, Docker, AWS, Nifi, Single Sign-On (OAuth and SAML), and Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise in industry, federal, and DoD standards/policies.
- Create and maintain ICAM for Zero Trust documentation, including release notes, installation and user guides, frameworks, SOPs, and plans in accordance with Zero Trust mandates.
- Research technical topics, identify improvement areas, and configure system components.
- Generate advisory documentation to support ICAM installation and planning.
- Collaborate with existing ICAM capability teams to develop architecture and design documentation.
- Perform technology assessments and contribute to strategy and planning documents.
- Support risk mitigation assessments.
- Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
- Lead design and development activities, guide users in formulating requirements, and advise on alternative approaches.
- Provide technical leadership for integrating requirements, design, and technology.
- Develop technical documentation, system architecture, and system design documentation.
- Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
- Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
- Ensure the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
- Communicate with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. Five years of additional SE experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree (total of 12 years).
- 7+ years of System Engineering experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
Skills
- Ability to solve complex system/integration problems.
- Strong technical acumen and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with PKI, scalability, and high-availability strategies across multiple service centers (e.g., availability zones).
- Experience with software development methodologies.
- Knowledge of application and security testing, vulnerability management, and tracking.
- Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Demonstrated engineering experience on programs involving requirements, functional analysis, system requirement reviews, CONOPS, and system architectures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with Software Development, Test Engineers, and System Administration teams.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and brief technical concepts to technical and non-technical personnel.
- Experience developing program review materials.
- Proficiency with Confluence and JIRA.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day.
Work Environment
- Collaborative environment with minimal supervision.
- Adherence to safety and quality policies, including drug-free workplace requirements and compliance with company drug and alcohol policies (including pre-hire screening for federally controlled substances).
