Systems Development Engineer, Files, Edge, and Data Streams (FEDS)
About the role
The Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC), AWS for Government, Storage Services team is hiring a cleared Systems Development Engineer to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems.
Responsibilities
- Join a team of highly talented engineers building and operating Amazon Simple Queue and Notification Services, Kinesis Data Streams (KDS), and AWS Managed Flink and Kafka, services instrumental to some of our customers’ most sensitive workflows.
- Have direct impact to some of the largest-scaled systems in the world and work with some of the smartest people in the industry, while having a huge impact.
- Focus on troubleshooting complex system operations, not just on a server level but enterprise wide.
- Take part and be responsible for developing and building exciting new features for these services - further enabling our customers’ mission.
- Work with Amazon's largest and most demanding customers to address specific needs across a full suite of services.
- Dive deep into technical issues and work diligently to improve the customer experience.
Requirements
This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
- 1+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
Skills
You should also have a solid foundation in multiple operating systems, networking and general knowledge of cloud services.
