About the Role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a top industry technical expert to grow our team dedicated to expanding our Controlled Working Environment (CWE) team to build, operate and maintain a Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) approved infrastructure. We are seeking Systems Development Engineers to build and support this working environment. You will help design architectural approaches and automate, enhance, and build new functionality for a complete separated end user workspaces environment. Key Job Responsibilities

  • Deep dive to root cause a customer issue
  • Investigate why a metric is trending the wrong way
  • Consult with the top engineers at Amazon
  • Discuss radical new approaches to automate operational issues
  • Investigate new ways to improve operations
  • Define and develop new solutions to solve technically complex cloud issues for our customers
  • Investigate system variances about to affect customer applications before an actual outage occurs
  • Dive deep into new service announcements to determine unique ways to implement them to improve the effectiveness of the CWE
  • Manage user applications like JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Duo, etc
  • Study and learn from industry recognized Amazon distinguished engineers

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
