Responsibilities
- Responsible for the design, development, analysis, creation of computer programs for end-users, including testing and modification as necessary
- Write Windows-based applications that interact with databases, web services, and Windows services
- Develop and maintain data interfaces to and from clients and vendors
- Perform systems analysis for programming requests from inside and outside users of current system platforms, triaging and scheduling requests for completion
- Assess programming requests for compatibility with current systems and procedures
- Organize meetings with users to determine needs versus wants and counsel on potential pitfalls of requests
- Develop a written plan detailing proposed system changes, including affected components, database files, and source code modifications, with before-and-after images for approval by the IS Manager or Systems Analyst
- Control storage waste within systems, ensuring cleanup of test environments, temporary databases, and journal receivers at project completion
- Assist in the analysis and design phase of projects
- Collaborate with developers, programmers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing, developing, and testing new software programs and applications
- Develop system alternative solutions in conjunction with functional users
- Support the creation, installation, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of information systems
- Analyze user requests for compatibility with current systems and procedures
- Work effectively with project management, support, and other internal departments
- Create, design, develop, test, and maintain an efficient database environment for all locations
- Analyze systems to determine software needs, consulting with end-users and setting up procedures for system interfaces
- Train and continually educate end-users and IS staff on EDI, interfaces, loads, and database maintenance
- Maintain an efficient system for logging data loads and routine SQL statements for database maintenance
- Program modifications to enhance current processes or establish new ones
- Ensure database effectiveness, handling transfers, rejections, and other system interactions appropriately and timely
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- A minimum of three years of C++, C#, .NET programming, and MS SQL knowledge
- PowerBuilder developer with at least five years of experience using PowerBuilder 10.5 or higher to design, develop, and support enterprise applications
- Sybase and MS SQL knowledge
- Experience with object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks such as LLBLGEN and Entity frameworks
- Experience designing and implementing APIs
- A minimum of three years working in a database environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment

Pay
$80,000 - $100,000 / year
