Systems Business Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Systems Business Analyst who will support our NYS client. The consultant will bridge business needs, product execution, and technical delivery across complex Legal, Safety, and Risk platforms. This role will lead requirements analysis, backlog refinement, integration analysis, Agile delivery support, testing coordination, and deployment readiness across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, Product Teams, IT teams, vendors, and implementation partners to deliver enterprise technology solutions.
• Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, and stakeholder discussions to define business objectives, operational needs, and system requirements.
• Perform current-state and future-state analysis, gap assessments, process optimization, and workflow documentation.
• Develop business and functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data mappings, and integration specifications.
• Maintain and refine product backlogs in JIRA or Azure DevOps, ensuring items are prioritized, traceable, and aligned with delivery objectives.
• Coordinate priorities, dependencies, risks, milestones, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
• Partner with development teams throughout the SDLC to clarify requirements, support implementation, validate solutions, and ensure business readiness.
• Analyze system integrations, data flows, interfaces, and dependencies across APIs, SFTP, middleware, batch processes, and enterprise applications.
• Create process flows, system diagrams, integration workflows, and technical documentation using Visio, Miro, or Lucidchart.
• Support Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, demonstrations, release planning, retrospectives, and delivery tracking.
• Cook up SIT and UAT planning, test case development, defect triage, solution validation, and business acceptance.
• Prepare decision logs, meeting materials, executive summaries, status reports, and project documentation while identifying and escalating risks, blockers, and improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in business analysis, technical business analysis, functional analysis, product analysis, or product delivery roles.
• 6+ years of experience with requirements gathering and development, process flow analysis and documentation, technical documentation, and end-user documentation.
• 6+ years of experience supporting system integrations and enterprise technology initiatives through the full SDLC.
• Demonstrated experience creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, current-state and future-state process flows, data mappings, and integration requirements.
• Strong knowledge of Agile delivery practices, backlog management, sprint planning, release planning, testing, and deployment readiness.
• Experience using JIRA, Azure DevOps Boards, and Confluence for product delivery, requirements traceability, and collaboration.
• Experience analyzing REST APIs, SOAP web services, SFTP, middleware integrations, and batch interfaces.
• 6+ years of experience with SQL, enterprise data analysis, data validation, ETL concepts, data migration, and Oracle databases.
• 6+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Visio, Power BI, and Microsoft Project.
• 6+ years of experience with .NET code development or closely supporting .NET/C# application delivery and technical analysis.
• Understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, SAML SSO, IAM, and role-based security concepts.
• Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, documentation, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills.
