About the role
The Systems Architect plays a pivotal role in advancing the national security mission through cutting-edge technology. They lead the design and documentation of system architectures, conduct feasibility studies, and guide development teams to ensure scalability, security, and reliability.
Responsibilities
Leading the design and documentation of system architectures for new projects and products.
Evaluating the technical feasibility and potential risks of proposed system designs.
Developing and maintaining long-term technical roadmaps for system evolution and modernization.
Ensuring systems are designed to handle high volumes of data and traffic and perform efficiently.
Overseeing the initial design and ongoing integration of applications and ensuring the overall integrity of the systems.
Researching and assessing emerging technologies to determine their potential impact and suitability for the organization.
Providing technical guidance and mentorship to development and engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Designing and implementing measures to ensure the security, integrity, and availability of systems.
Clearly communicating complex technical concepts and strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences, including management and end-users.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and/or 2 to 5 years of experience.
Security Clearance: TS with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI with CI Poly.
Deep understanding of both hardware and software components.
Broad knowledge of network design, databases, and system servers.
Ability to translate business goals into technical solutions.
Proficiency in various system architectures, including integrated, distributed, pooled, and converged models.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
