Systems Architect

About the role

Two Six Technologies is looking for a Technical Lead who will partner with Program and Product Managers to outline technical design and delivery of a new, key custom application capability vital to the customer’s mission set. The Technical Lead will ensure development and delivery of the overall technical architecture, manage the technical team, and help ensure the program delivers successfully using sound DevOps, agile, and agency‑specific practices.

Location: Englewood, CO or Herndon, VA.

Responsibilities

• Outline technical design and delivery of custom application capabilities.
• Develop and maintain the overall technical architecture.
• Manage and mentor the technical team.
• Apply DevOps, agile, and agency‑specific practices to ensure successful program delivery.
• Assist in the design and development of new capabilities.
• Document code artifacts, JIRA tickets, and related processes.
• Build libraries for third‑party interaction and resolve end‑to‑end integration issues.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience architecting event‑driven systems.
• Experience developing Java and/or Go applications.
• Experience developing and deploying containerized microservices.
• Proficiency with code repositories such as Git, GitLab, and related tools.
• Experience with resilient systems across multiple data centers.
• Strong Linux background and familiarity with Jira/Confluence, RDBMS, and messaging/queuing technologies.
• Experience with AWS cloud solutions and serverless frameworks.
• Ability to work in an agile environment.
• Ability to document code artifacts, JIRA tickets, and related processes.
• Ability to build libraries for third‑party use and troubleshoot end‑to‑end integration issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Desired Experience

• 7–10+ years of Java/Go development experience.
• 3–5+ years of cloud platform development.
• 7–10+ years of unit testing experience.
• Experience with satellite systems and operations (mission management, planning, scheduling, command and telemetry).
• SIGINT domain experience.
• Experience developing multi‑threaded systems.
• Experience with AWS Lambda and related technologies.

Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Pay

Salary range: $139,676 – $209,513 USD (annualized). Compensation is determined by factors such as education, experience, skills, geographic location, and contract requirements.
