Systems Administrator Level 3

About the Role

GRVTY is seeking experienced Systems Administrators to support core Intelligence Community (IC) missions. As a cyber professional in the intelligence community, you will work as part of a team on the frontlines against our cyber adversaries.

Responsibilities

The System Administrator will provide High Performance Computing (HPC) services in the form of HPC enhanced sustainment capabilities to two geographically dispersed areas. These capabilities include:

• Systems running Red Hat, CentOS, SUSE, and custom vendor-specific operating systems, with high-speed shared storage (e.g., Lustre, GPFS), along with dedicated high-speed, low-latency network interconnects like Infiniband and Slingshot.
• Transitioning systems into Operations.
• Working across organizations to provide planning, delivery, and integration of new or additional HPC sustainment capabilities, including HPC systems, servers (cluster, SMP, MPP, and SPD), and parallel file systems.
• Supporting the HPC and ABS (ABUNDANTSHIELD high-speed shared parallel storage) SRE teams while following Government-designated policies and procedures to enhance sustainment responsibilities and improve customer mission operations.

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
• Provide in-depth experience in troubleshooting IT systems.
• Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
• Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems, remaining involved in the resolution process.
• Configure and manage Linux, Unix, and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems; install/load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components; implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
• Support the design of systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware.
• Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
• Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance (most recent poly in the last 7 years).
• DoD 8570 IAT II level certification.
• B.S. in a technical discipline and 10 years’ experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, or 15 years’ experience in lieu of a degree.

Pay

Maryland Pay Range: $139,000—$149,000 USD
