About the Role

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates system specifications, configures systems, establishes standards, ensures hardware/software compatibility, and maintains workstations and Microsoft (MS) Windows Operating Systems for stable performance.
  • Performs daily operation of MS Windows server software, including system security, access control, configuration, and system backups.
  • Specifies network requirements, monitors local area network (LAN) performance, troubleshoots networking hardware, and ensures systems operate according to specifications.
  • Organizes and secures directory structures; assists and trains staff in the use of the department Data Management (DM) System, associated databases, and Configuration Management (CM)/DM release procedures.
  • Maintains and designs functional, visually aesthetic web pages.
  • Specifies hardware requirements and provides a Computer Authorization and Custodial Receipt Listing (CA/CRL) to track equipment configurations and identification logs.
  • Serves as point of contact (POC) for problem reporting, incremental version updates, and monitors yearly support contracts.
  • Makes recommendations for future hardware/software implementations and related process improvements; schedules, plans, and performs system upgrades, including transitions from design, test, production, and documentation environments.
  • Provides operational status as required using established policies and procedures.
  • Deploys end-user client hardware, configures information system services, provides printer support, and addresses end-user concerns.
  • Data Transfer Assistant (DTA): Manages all authorized data transfers in strict compliance with JSIG, NIST, and NISPOM standards within the SAPF and ACA areas. Responsibilities include processing Assured File Transfer (AFT) forms, ensuring Data at Rest (DAR) encryption, and serving as a courier for classified media with 100% accountability.
  • System & Network Administration: Deploys and administers classified systems, including full lifecycle user account management (creation, initial login support, password changes, email configuration, network share mapping, and decommissioning). Manages user account permissions and access controls on the enterprise network through the IAO Express system.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Conducts regular, systematic inventories of all hardware and software assets to ensure adherence to compliance standards. Develops and maintains comprehensive technical documentation for standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Technical Support: Provides troubleshooting and preventative maintenance for audio-visual (AV) systems in both classified and unclassified meeting environments. Manages IT support issues through the helpdesk ticketing system from initial reporting to resolution.
  • Security & Logistics: Provides escort duties for personnel requiring access to secure areas.

Requirements

  • Associates or higher degree in Computer/Information Technology, or equivalent academic/technical training.
  • Five (5) years of related experience or a combination of experience in computer system basics and/or related areas of expertise.
  • Broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems.
  • Specific experience in MS Windows server environments and various computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), database, MS Office, and web-enabled applications.
  • Planning and organizing skills with the ability to work under deadlines.
  • Capability to update or repair computer systems.
  • Valid, state-issued driver’s license.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to Top Secret with Special Access.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD IAM Level II certification (CompTIA Security+) within 180 days of hire.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is $78,500 to $100,000 annually.

Working Conditions

This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting, and use of a computer terminal. The role requires constant use of sight abilities for writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness.
