Systems Administrator, Finex Credit Union, East Hartford or Wallingford Connecticut

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support for credit union staff including troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.
• Responds to needs and questions of system/network end users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs.
• Manages user accounts, permissions and access controls.
• Implements all new user setup on network.
• Responsible for training new staff as well as providing updates to existing staff in regards to basic laptop usage, core banking platform, phone system and imaging software.
• Supports organizational efforts of systems administration, security, and disaster recovery.
• Maintains inventory of technology assets including hardware and software.
• Performs system updates, patch management and software installations.
• Monitors system network traffic, stability, remote access and reports to Management for further evaluation.
• Makes necessary recommendations for additional resources or hardware, and reviews correspondence from core/network vendors.
• Aids in maintaining IT compliance with regulatory expectations including NCUA guidance, FFIEC Information Security Handbook, and GLBA safeguard requirements.
• Assists with administration and monitoring of cybersecurity tools including endpoint protection and identity monitoring.
• Maintains documentation required for audits, regulatory examinations and internal reviews.
• Performs report-writing and testing on core system (Symitar).
• Acts as backup to Chief Operating Officer as it relates to IT and security.
• Assists with special projects and in other IT areas.

Requirements/Skills Needed

• 5-10 years of similar or related experience.
• (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
• Experience and understanding of technology and how it can be used to deliver credit union services.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
