About the role
The Systems Administrator II is responsible for maintaining DataServ Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform, providing Tier 3 infrastructure and application support, and working on diverse internal projects. This position involves controlling systems to achieve high availability and performance of various business applications.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and optimize servers, systems, and related components.
- Support and troubleshoot at least one of the following database platforms: MS SQL Server, MongoDB, ElasticSearch.
- Support and troubleshoot at least one of the following operating systems: Linux, Windows.
- Support and troubleshoot at least one of the following scripting languages: bash, python, power shell.
- Perform analytical thinking and problem-solving tasks.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-4 years directly related experience in an AWS environment.
- 1-3 years' experience with Linux administration and Linux+ certification.
- 1-3 years' experience with Microsoft (Windows) server administration.
- Experience supporting, troubleshooting, and optimizing at least one of the following database platforms: MS SQL Server, MongoDB, ElasticSearch.
- Experience with scripting (bash, python, power shell).
- Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
- Ability and desire to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- May perform work requiring lifting up to 50 pounds and/or physical exertion.
- Must be able to communicate in technical and non-technical terms depending on audience.
