Systems Administrator

About the role

The Systems Administrator II is responsible for maintaining DataServ Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform, providing Tier 3 infrastructure and application support, and working on diverse internal projects. This position involves controlling systems to achieve high availability and performance of various business applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize servers, systems, and related components.
• Support and troubleshoot at least one of the following database platforms: MS SQL Server, MongoDB, ElasticSearch.
• Support and troubleshoot at least one of the following operating systems: Linux, Windows.
• Support and troubleshoot at least one of the following scripting languages: bash, python, power shell.
• Perform analytical thinking and problem-solving tasks.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-4 years directly related experience in an AWS environment.
• 1-3 years' experience with Linux administration and Linux+ certification.
• 1-3 years' experience with Microsoft (Windows) server administration.
• Experience supporting, troubleshooting, and optimizing at least one of the following database platforms: MS SQL Server, MongoDB, ElasticSearch.
• Experience with scripting (bash, python, power shell).
• Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
• Ability and desire to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
• May perform work requiring lifting up to 50 pounds and/or physical exertion.
• Must be able to communicate in technical and non-technical terms depending on audience.
