System Software Developer

About the role

Join a core innovation team in a rapidly evolving technology company. The European team is expanding to address both global company needs and local European customer requirements. You will work on core products such as our real-time distributed microkernel eMCOS, middleware, device drivers, or advanced graphics stack support. Contribute directly to the world’s most scalable OS, used in diverse systems including robots, autonomous systems, automotive, medical, industrial, and consumer applications.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design to implementation.
• Improve performance and robustness of operating systems and related components.
• Apply knowledge of operating systems and low-level network protocols to drive innovation.
• Optionally provide technical support to customers, assist in porting open-source components (e.g., Qt or ROS), or work on continuous integration infrastructure.

Requirements

• Strong C programming skills, particularly in constrained environments.
• Knowledge of POSIX-based operating system architectures.
• Ability to understand and work with complex systems.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Good communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal).
• High level of autonomy; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Additional Qualifications

• Good understanding of C++.
• Experience in performance optimization.
• Experience with GCC and Clang/LLVM toolchains.
• Familiarity with standards such as MISRA-C, ISO 26262, or IEC 61508.
• Experience with homebrew embedded or mobile projects.
• Interest in Japanese culture.
• Proficiency in English.
