System Retail Manager

About the role

This is a traveling System Retail Food Service Manager position supporting 16+ sites within the Jefferson Health System. The role involves filling in where needed, assisting with projects, and implementing retail dining operations at hospitals. You will oversee marketing, merchandising, cash handling, specials, and limited-time offers (LTOs). This is a management position requiring 80% travel throughout the Jefferson Health System.

Responsibilities

• Manage Front of House (Cafeteria, Food Court, Quick Service) dining operations.
• Develop and implement a retail services plan to improve service, quality, and profitability.
• Maintain effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified retail experience.
• Oversee marketing, merchandising, and cash handling procedures.
• Ensure sanitation and safety standards are met in respective areas.
• Maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships.
• Drive customer service and track and respond to survey results.
• Directly supervise two or more employees, including hiring, discipline, performance reviews, and pay increases.
• Assist in location forecasting and accounting; track sales trends and drive sales.
• Implement specials, LTOs, and coordinate pop-up restaurants, Fooda, and similar initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of Retail Food Service Management or Front of the House Management experience.
• Experience with marketing, merchandising, and cash handling.
• Strong customer service and computer skills.
• Ability to work independently and provide direction.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule, including days, evenings, and a rotating weekend schedule.
• 80% travel required.
• Experience managing a union workforce is a plus.
