Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs timely and cost-effective maintenance of machinery and service/repair of conveyor equipment.
  • Maintains company assets in a quality fashion through understanding mechanical, electrical, and operational controls associated with the conveyor system.
  • Repairs and maintains machinery and conveyor equipment within the facility as required with minimal supervision and ensures minimal downtime of conveyor system.
  • Disassembles machinery and repairs broken parts using both hand tools and power equipment.
  • Provides advice and guidance to other maintenance mechanics and respects the work of others.
  • Performs other maintenance repairs and duties in the facility that may not be conveyor related as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • Minimum of three (3+) years conveyor maintenance and repair experience.
  • Minimum of three (3+) electrical controls experience.
  • Experience operating material handling and lift equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprint and schematic diagrams.
  • Welding and fabrication skills a plus.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to work independently, and be a team player.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Positive attitude and energetic.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and/or shifts which can include overtime and weekends.
  • Ability and willingness to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
  • Ability to travel to outside schooling if required.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to carry, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • The associate is required to sit.
  • The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, and climb.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the associate is subject to a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm.
  • The associate is also exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • The noise levels in the work environment are typically low to high.
