About the Company

Encore Fire Protection is the east coast's largest full-service fire protection company, serving over 90,000 customers from Maine to Louisiana. With a team of over 2,200 dedicated employees, we provide innovative, customized fire suppression, fire sprinkler, and fire alarm solutions that protect lives and properties every day. Our goal is to deliver a superior experience to those who trust us to safeguard what matters most. We are passionate about continuous growth, innovation, and maintaining a culture that thrives on success and commitment to safety. Our mission is to be the best fire protection company the industry has ever seen.

About the Role

We are looking for a Deficiency Sales Representative who is naturally outgoing, detail-oriented, and unapologetically persistent. The ideal candidate thrives in starting conversations, is highly organized, and excels in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. This role blends customer interactions, quoting, and site visits to turn inspection results into clear, actionable proposals.

You will be paired with an outside sales executive and spend about 70% of your time in the office working with internal resources to quote work, develop proposals, and communicate with customers. The remaining 30% of your time will be spent meeting customers face-to-face, building rapport, and surveying life safety equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers to build long-standing relationships.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Operations, to ensure customers receive our unique experience.
  • Act as the customer’s advocate and primary point of contact for questions and requests, connecting them with the right team members as needed.
  • Review past inspection reports to accurately determine system deficiencies and work with customers to quote and service the system.
  • Perform administrative duties such as writing and sending contract renewals, filling out proposals and forms.
  • Meet customers face-to-face to build rapport and survey life safety equipment for effective quoting and selling of contracts.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with fire alarm and/or sprinkler systems.
  • Formal sales experience beyond retail or hospitality, ideally selling a service.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple quotes, follow-ups, and deadlines.
  • Comfortable reading inspection reports and translating findings into clear next steps.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, with a willingness to learn new tools quickly.
  • Willingness to dive into platforms like HubSpot and ServiceTrade and self-teach as needed.
  • A genuine people-first approach, able to build trust with customers and internal teams.
  • Persistence, resilience, and comfort having direct, honest conversations when decisions need to be made.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in life safety, fire protection, or another building services or route-based service business.
  • A track record of turning inspection findings into signed contracts and completed work.
  • Prior experience using HubSpot, ServiceTrade, or similar CRM and service management tools.
  • Experience partnering directly with outside sales, operations, and service teams to support shared revenue goals.
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards or local code requirements related to fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
  • Ability to get in front of customers, build rapport quickly, and stay top of mind without being pushy.

Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: Expected salary range between $60,000 - $80,000, with performance-based bonuses tied to personal effectiveness and team contributions.
  • Purpose-Driven Work Environment: A culture that values results and empowers the team to focus on impactful work.
  • Flexible Dress Code: Casual work environment with branded Encore swag; dress for the objective, not the occasion.
  • People-Focused Culture: Encourages experimentation, learning, and collaboration, with space to share ideas and shape the company’s growth.
  • Tools for Success: Access to leading-edge web-based productivity tools.
  • Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Retirement Planning: Participation in a Fidelity 401(k) plan with a company match.
  • Life Insurance: Company-paid life insurance policy of $50,000.
