About the Role
DCCA is looking to staff a junior- to mid-Level Systems Engineer position to support a new, prime contract for a Government program that delivers important technical solutions and products using emerging technologies for processing significantly large amounts of data. Program technical areas include commercial cloud technologies, high performance computing, and enterprise architecture.
Responsibilities
- Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement.
- Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.
- Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
- Responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288: Technical Process Area - Stakeholder Requirements Definition, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal.
- Project Process Area - Project Planning, Project Assessment and Control, Decision Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management, Information Management, and Measurement.
- Enterprise (Organizational Project-Enabling) Process Area - Project Portfolio Management, Infrastructure Management, Lifecycle Model Management, Human Resource Management, and Quality Management.
- Agreement Process Area - Acquisition and Supply.
Qualifications
- Highly skilled, junior- to mid-level Systems Engineer with interest in executing legacy-to-cloud-based transitions, specifically focused on data flow engineering to ensure thorough data analysis and compliance to meet government requirements.
- Experience in contributing to the development of sections of systems engineering documents such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirement specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
- Experience in managing system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) – Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture.
- Experience in assisting with the allocation of resources to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
- Experience in coordinating the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination.
- Experience in analyzing technical alternatives for a project and making preliminary recommendations.
- Experience in assisting with systems engineering activities and preparing multiple work products in Project and Technical Process Areas associated with the ISO/IEC 15288.
- Experience in developing and delivering a work product in any of the ISO/IEC 15288 Process Areas.

Education
- A High School Diploma or GED plus six (6) years of general systems engineering experience (any process area).
- A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus two (2) years of systems engineering experience.
- A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
