System Development Manager, OpsTech Solutions

About the role

As a leader of the OpsTech Solutions application development team, you will be at the forefront of IT service delivery, collaborating across OpsTech Solutions infrastructure and services teams. You will work across all internal teams to drive tooling and process improvements to ensure a high-quality, fast-resolution customer experience. Your mission is to develop a world-class customer experience and set new customer service standards in IT Delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of SDEs and Systems Development Engineers; provide mentorship and career development
  • Manage the full development lifecycle from proof-of-concept through production deployment, including pilot design, success metrics, security reviews, and scaled rollout
  • Raise the technical bar by establishing engineering best practices, code review standards, CI/CD pipelines, and operational excellence mechanisms for AI/ML systems
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership on strategy, progress, risks, and business impact through mechanisms like MBRs, sprint reviews, and roadmap presentations

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of managing system or software development teams experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development life cycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • 5+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience securing cloud software services and understanding design for scalability, performance and reliability
  • Experience in agile software development methodology
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Pay

USA, TX, Austin - $166,300.00 - $225,000.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
