System Development Engineer, Blink

About the role

Blink is looking for an experienced System Development Engineer to join our growing Cloud Development Team. Blink has a mission to make neighborhoods safer. With affordable solutions that work on any home, Blink is committed to offering smart security that’s accessible to everyone. Blink is part of the Amazon Devices family, and we are seeking System Development Engineers who will help us create the next generation of home security.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain business-critical large-scale cloud services used by millions of Blink customers.
• Work with world-class engineers to build cloud systems that support millions of devices.
• Create new cloud services for innovative new capabilities on Blink security devices.
• Continuously develop the Blink infrastructure within the larger Amazon ecosystem.
• Design, architect, develop, and operate large-scale cloud systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience building services using AWS products.
• Experience with Linux/Unix.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.

Qualifications

• Talented System Development Engineer with a strong technical background.
• Customer obsession and extensive experience building distributed systems.
• Strong judgment and communication skills.

• Continuous focus on engineering and operational excellence.

Skills

• Experience with distributed systems at scale.
• Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
• Knowledge of database systems and SQL.
