About the role
Amazon is building the next generation software, hardware, and processes to run its global fulfillment network. This role involves transforming the integration of robotics within the company's advanced warehouses.
Responsibilities
- Develop core machine control logic for industrial edge devices (e.g. PLCs, IPCs)
- Design, simplify, and continuously improve system controls architecture including machine control code, networking, electrical design, and safety design
- Identify and implement system optimizations
- Integrate control systems with a diverse array of sensors, actuators, motors, and software services
- Work closely with deployment teams to implement end-to-end solutions in the field
Requirements
- 5+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience
- Experience designing or implementing integrated automation solutions such as material handling systems, high-speed packaging lines, or manufacturing lines
- 5+ years machine control code development experience with practical experience in structured text
- Experience in PLC based controls design, development, implementation and support
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations
- Experience developing controls code utilizing Codesys platform
- Experience with industrial automation and controls system design
- Experience with industrial fieldbus protocols such as Profinet, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT
- Experience with industrial automation safety design
- Embedded programming experience with C/C++, Java, Python, or similar languages
- Ability to recognize and implement improvements to the human aspects of systems development, implementation, and use

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $129,200.00 - $174,800.00 USD annually.
Schedule
50% travel expected to support onsite system testing.
