About the role
AWS Hardware Engineering is seeking a customer-obsessed, team-driven technology leader to enhance the engineering of server hardware and software. This role focuses on next-generation high-speed designs for server components and systems, specifically PCIe topology and signal integrity.
Responsibilities
- Work on next-generation high-speed designs for server components and systems, focusing on PCIe topology and switch firmware.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to design, develop, validate, launch, monitor, and troubleshoot high-throughput interfaces at scale.
- Create and maintain environments to track fleet performance, qualify firmware, validate system designs, and support debugging.
- Improve telemetry and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer engineering or equivalent.
- Experience identifying, root-causeing, and resolving hardware/firmware/software issues in large-scale systems.
- Experience writing and implementing functional and performance tests for manufacturing and in-field coverage, including telemetry.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical, software, computer engineering or equivalent.
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
- Experience with high-speed interconnect, including PCIe.
- Experience with developing qualification and manufacturing acceptance test plans, test procedures, and test environments.
- Experience in systems design, operations, automation, and process improvement.
