System Design Engineering Manager
About the role
Leads design team to develop HVAC systems based on project requirements and customer specifications
Releases system components to achieve all performance, durability and reliability targets
Defines HVAC component operating requirements to suppliers
Develops test plans for reliability/performance of components and HVAC systems to ensure compliance with customer requirements
Coordinates development testing and hardware requirements (component interfaces, measurement)
Contributes to project documentation, i.e., BOM, DFMA, DVP&R, specifications
Provides technical expertise for other functions (warranty, plant process, management)
Provides mechanical/electrical technical support to production and quality teams through the implementation of changes to equipment, tooling or processes

- Captures and coordinates development testing and hardware requirements (component interfaces, measurement)

- Provides mechanical/electrical technical support to production and quality teams through the implementation of changes to equipment, tooling or processes
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely-related field
5+ years experience Bus/ Automotive/ HVAC systems design experience
Strong knowledge of HVAC system design principles, load calculations and equipment selection
Good organizational skills – self motivated, results oriented
Strong documentation & communication skills for presentations/reports/interfacing internally & with customers
Strong leadership skills and management experience to guide and develop junior engineering/ design staff
Experienced with problem solving and utilization of problem solving tools
