About the role

The role involves leading the analysis of Operational Design Domains (ODDs), traffic patterns, and regulatory behaviors across target markets to define data needs and optimize data collection for high-quality, targeted data acquisition.

Responsibilities

  • ODD Characterization: Analyze and define ODDs, identify boundaries, edge conditions, and failure triggers.
  • Behavioral Competency Mapping: Build and maintain a taxonomy of behavioral competencies, quantify complexity and frequency.
  • ODD Permutation & Scaling Framework: Develop a framework for computing and prioritizing permutations, recommend minimal data slices.
  • Current Model Behavioural Pattern Analysis: Analyze model KPI patterns, assess differences in required system behavior, propose improvements.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with data engineering, safety, simulation, product, and deployment teams to develop data strategies and deployment plans.
  • Predictability & MTBF Guidance: Identify data gaps, provide guidance on additional data needed to reach MTBF targets.

Requirements

  • 7+ years experience in systems engineering, automotive data analysis, data science, or a related field.
  • Experience analyzing or defining ODDs in AV/ADAS technologies.
  • Familiarity with traffic regulations and human driving behaviors across multiple geographies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Python, SQL, GIS, Jupyter).
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and translate domain analysis into technical and product requirements.

Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Physics, Statistics or Mathematics with specialism in traffic system modeling, autonomous driving deployment, or urban mobility analysis.

Skills

  • Data analysis and visualization skills.
  • Systems engineering and automotive data analysis expertise.
  • Experience with traffic regulations and human driving behaviors.
  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, GIS, and Jupyter.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
