System Architecture Engineer

Avion Solutions Inc., a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a System Architecture Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency. This position is located in Huntsville, AL. Job Responsibilities/Duties: Assess missile defense system capability gaps, challenges, needs, and opportunities against current and future threats to develop potential architecture solutions that mitigate gaps and/or improve performance.Assist with the development of analysis plans, execute MDS simulation tools utilizing the DoD High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems, assess analysis results, prepare analysis briefs/reports, and provide reviews of analysis products.Support modeling & simulation (M&S) efforts related to the above to tailor tools to specific analysis plans.Other duties as assigned. Required Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM Field with 7+ years of experience in missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project.Solid understanding of the current MDS architecture and future concepts.Experience in modeling, assessment, and evaluation of future missile defense architectures.Experience with MATLAB.Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain/maintain a DoW security clearance.Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time. Preferred Qualifications: Active TS/SCI Clearance.Experience with the definition and use of advanced concepts and algorithms for the M&S of MDS architectures.Experience with M&S and analysis of MDS architectures involving both directed and kinetic energy weapons and other future concepts.Experience with HPC Systems, Python, and Git is a plus.Experience with BMD Benchmark.Experience supporting systems engineering-related architecture design activities.Ability to perform technology assessment & analysis and provide insight on the utility of potentially useful technologies.Specialized MDS analysis experience in: threat characterization, trajectories, RF sensing/signatures, and/or EO/IR sensing/signatures.MBSE experience related to missile defense system architectures.
