Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the early definition of the product during the offer phase, evaluating the Hardware/Software perimeter, related development, and costs.
  • Coordinate the generation of the Technical Dossier for the offer.
  • Define and maintain ECU system architecture using modeling rules, best practices, and tools like Enterprise Architect/Rhapsody.
  • Ensure architecture is modular, scalable, and optimized for performance, safety, and maintainability.
  • Conduct design and implementation reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Monitor technology trends in Hardware & Software functionalities and benchmark proposals from different vendors.
  • Serve as a decision-maker for critical technical choices and trade-offs.
  • Map System Requirements related to Hardware, mechanics, optics, and industrial constraints to the System architectural design in cooperation with the System Requirements Engineer.
  • Elaborate internal System Requirements related to performance goals or architectural constraints.
  • Model the System at functional, logical, and physical levels, allocating System Requirements to Software and Hardware blocks.
  • Participate in customer meetings, supporting the Program Management team, Product Engineer, and Software Project Leader on technical discussions.
  • Provide governance to the Software team regarding implementation options.
  • Support the Functional Safety Management Team and Functional Safety System Architect in defining the Technical Safety Concept and Requirements.
  • Support Software and Hardware teams during reviews and implementation of critical requirements.

  • Experience with Operating Systems (OSEK, AUTOSAR).
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI, Ethernet, UDS, LVDS).
  • Knowledge of product & software development standards (ASPICE, ISO 26262, ISO 21434).
  • Experience with Architecture modeling methodologies and tools (Enterprise Architect, Simulink, UML, and SYSML).
  • Understanding of Automotive industrialization rules & manufacturing processes (End Of Line, product calibrations).
  • Proficiency with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
  • Knowledge of Automotive technical, environmental, and homologation standards (JASO, ISO, ECE, etc.).
  • Experience with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence) and analytic tools (APIS IQ, FMEA, FTA).

Skills

  • Prior experience as a System Architect or Software Architect in automotive products development.
  • Exposure to multiple ECU domains (Body Control, Infotainment, Instrument Cluster, ADAS, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with OEMs like Stellantis, Nissan, GM, Ford, VW, BMW, etc.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
