System Administrator TS/SCI Poly
About the role
A Virginia-based System Administrator opportunity is available in Leidos' Intel Sector's Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). This role supports a complex and fast-paced program using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology. The Systems Administrator will perform daily system administration and operational maintenance (O&M) tasks in a complex network environment with geographically distributed systems.
Responsibilities
- Monitor infrastructure systems, applications, and processes, and track and resolve issues promptly.
- Support various infrastructure systems and respond to hardware and software incidents impacting local users.
- Work with senior System Administrators, sometimes remotely, to identify, troubleshoot, and correct hardware and software issues including network connectivity.
- Provide technical assistance to companion work groups and maintain good inter-departmental relations.
- Communicate with users and publish status of any system outages as needed.
- Proactively contact customers when infrastructure processes are significantly delayed or may impact their ability to complete a business function on time.
- Manage information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and system security scanning for equipment suites in accordance with System Security Plans to identify and remediate IAVAs rapidly and accurately.
- Initiate IAVA responses and system security scans, complete remediation, and extend IAVA patches and security updates on various IT and network systems.
- Create and maintain documentation to ensure clear, concise, and accurate information is readily available for incident resolution.
- Participate in project work and provide support for implementing IT enhancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience, or Master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working on IT/software programs utilizing complex equipment/systems (e.g., Network Switches, Routers, LANs, & cabling, Windows/Linux operating systems, VMware, etc.).
- Experience with Data Center design and configuration (e.g., rack and stack, power, placement, etc.).
- Experience or familiarity with IT system optimization, monitoring, and/or other technical set-up and troubleshooting.
- Experience providing information for and documenting technical processes.
- Direct, hands-on experience helping users in an IT or similar customer service capacity.
- Capable of responding quickly to customer inquiries in a clear, concise manner, providing detailed and comprehensive status reports and follow-ups.
- Commitment to adopting and adhering to best practices including compliance with maintenance windows and change control procedures.
- Strong analytic abilities and meticulous work ethic.
- Independent thinking and proficiency in working both independently and within a team.
- Ability to respond to system administration, operations, and maintenance problems while off-duty, on an as-needed on-call basis.
- Travel up to 10% of the time if required.
- Monthly reporting to the Annapolis Junction, MD office.
- Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or familiarity with security standards, software architectures, and/or Network security technologies (Multiple Domain, PKI, SSP, Vulnerability Assessment, etc.).
- Experience supporting a software configuration management and development environment.
- Experience working in an Agile Development Environment or on an Agile Team.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $73,450.00 - $132,775.00. Employment benefits include competitive compensation, Health and Wellness programs, Income Protection, Paid Leave, and Retirement.
