System Administrator (Night Shift) - Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI

Five Rivers Analytics, an Akima company, is hiring a VMware Systems Administrator to support the Satellite Control Network Operations, Remote Site and Mission Partner Support (STORMS) contract at Schriever SFB, CO.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain computer networks including VPNs, routers, switches, and other physical hardware; install and configure network equipment; configure and manage firewalls as required.
  • Monitor computer systems to improve network performance for all systems.
  • Coordinate efforts with STORMS Team and customers to ensure highly successful operations, configuration, and verification of connectivity.
  • Develop and deploy ANETS VMware solutions; administer, configure, and troubleshoot/resolve VMware environment issues.
  • Install operating systems, service packs, security patches, and bug fixes as directed; provide technical support and document VMware processes.
  • Keep informed of related developments in VMware technologies and products; VMware Certified Professional (VCP) preferred.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of VMware ESX and related technologies.
  • Apply Windows Server and Active Directory knowledge; implement highly-available server/networking/storage infrastructure.
  • Provide planning and execution of projects; troubleshoot and analyze operating system, network, and application performance issues.
  • Coordinate problem management and resolution among functional areas; provide subject matter expertise for diagnosing and resolving problems.
  • Analyze client/server requirements to ensure systems meet performance requirements; familiarity with relational databases required.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system/application activity and performance; perform functionality and integration testing for new and updated Endpoint Security Software.
  • Assist in implementing policies and standards related to computing resources, system operations, and operational aspects of multiple systems.
  • Provide system administration support for Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE); deploy network access control features and configure/administer Cisco ISE.
  • Develop procedures, train personnel, and perform complex operations; implement configuration changes for OSR and related systems.
  • Perform account management, systems and database administration, testing, PMIs, and troubleshooting/fault repair.
  • Conduct systems administration, database administration, master document upkeep, software support, and maintenance.
  • Review outage documentation and repair computer systems and peripheral devices; interface with network administrators and service desk teams to track job tickets.
  • Support operations and maintenance of the VMware virtual infrastructure; provide security and network support for physical networking and firewall services.
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs for network hardware-related problems.
  • Must be flexible with days off; schedule will change on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly) to ensure equitable coverage on this shift.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree and 5 years' experience, or High School diploma/GED and 6-10 years of experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; Active Secret clearance to start with the ability to achieve a Top-Secret clearance.
  • DoDM 8140.03 Intermediate Level certification, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire date.
  • Experience in trunk/circuit testing and monitoring; ability to review, interpret, and act upon message traffic to protect communication availability.
  • Demonstrated understanding of modern telecommunications networks architecture and circuits.
  • Capable of autonomously performing all known tasks and addressing unknown tasks, conditions, and parameters.
  • Microsoft SQL Database Administrator experience.
  • Good communication skills; ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other contractors.
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 50 words per minute.

Desired Qualifications

  • Windows Server 2016/2019 and Active Directory certification.
  • ESS (HBSS) training and certification.
  • Networking and firewall experience/certification.
  • SolarWinds work experience.
  • Experience with the Satellite Control Network (SCN).
  • Experience coordinating telecommunications projects involving installations, configuration changes, and upgrades.
  • Knowledge of DISA policy and directives (e.g., DISA Circular 310-70-1).
  • Direct experience performing and managing Service Desk functions and responsibilities.
  • Proven capabilities to implement standards for system operations for compatibility between hardware and software.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving software, operating system, and networking problems.
  • Experience scheduling, performing, and monitoring system backups and data recoveries.
  • Systems administration experience on VMware, Operational Switch Replacement (OSR) Systems, Wide Area Network Interface Functions (WANIFs), NetApp, EMS, SolarWinds, LogRhythm, and encryption devices.

Pay

$90,000 - $93,000
