About You

Prowess Consulting is looking for an enthusiastic junior System Administrator/System/Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have skills in a variety of technologies including storage, compute, and networking. Strong troubleshooting and creative problem-solving skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively to resolve issues, are essential. To be considered for this role, you must reside in the greater Seattle area. This role will require 3 – 5 days per week in our Bellevue, WA office.

Responsibilities

• Researching, testing, development, and writing in support of benchmarking and testing
• Running publicly available hardware benchmarks and tracking results
• Running provided Python/PowerShell/Bash/Shell scripts or interactive steps to stress test server infrastructure hardware

Requirements

• Associate degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field
• 2+ years’ experience or working knowledge administrating AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle cloud
• 2+ years or working knowledge with scripting languages such as Python and Batch/Shell scripts
• Ability to take clear notes and write concise technical documentation
• Ability to analyze/interpret test results and provide recommendations to improve test

Nice to Have

• 2+ years’ experience in a Windows environment
• 2+ years' experience with Linux Administration
• 1+ year experience in configuring enterprise storage
• 1+ year consumer hardware benchmarking and testing
• 2+ years with building sandbox and lab environments
• Ability to conduct research to learn and understand new technologies
• Additional experience in the following areas: Kubernetes, AI/ML workloads, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Virtualization such as Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, Nginx, Redis

Pay

The offered base pay range for this position is $45.00 – 60.00 per hour.
