About the role
The Syrup Batcher produces quality products, safely and efficiently, operating all appropriate and necessary equipment, and following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities
- Be in attendance in the syrup room before commencement of production.
- Designate the appropriate tank for batching in accordance with the day’s scheduling to avoid conflicts.
- Ensure proper sanitation is performed on mixing and storage tanks when required.
- Report any issues of quality and mechanical defects to the Quality Supervisor as soon as they occur.
- Follow the issued production schedule by the production manager.
- Follow FIFO process to ensure proper concentrate rotation.
- Record all syrup batches accurately.
- Ensure all sanitation steps have been carried out and recorded correctly before mixing commences.
- Ensure all quality checks are carried out accurately and consistently as specified by quality control.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in the syrup room deemed necessary for a beverage production facility.
- Follow all ISO Management System Processes.
- Perform any other duties deemed necessary by management.
Requirements
- High School degree with at least a year of general work experience.
- Previous production environment experience or machine operation equipment experience is desired.
- Will consider other equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- Previous food-grade manufacturing background and keen understanding of food safety regulations is desired.
- Previous food and beverage manufacturing and equipment experience is highly desired.
- Ability to operate manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read, write, follow process flow charts, and problem-solve.
- Good math, inspection, and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent team-player with the ability to effectively interact with multiple departments.
- Highly motivated self-starter, with the ability to work with minimal oversight.
- Flexible with the ability to adapt to varying situations and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Regular, consistent attendance is an essential job function.
Physical Demands
- Lift 70 pounds up to shoulder height occasionally.
- Lift up to 40 pounds above the head occasionally.
- Push carts with 55-gallon drums up an incline using 100 pounds of force occasionally.
- Carry up to 70 pounds up six stairs occasionally.
- Tip and pour from a 70-pound container at shoulder height occasionally.
- Climb stairs frequently in a wet environment.
- Constant standing, walking, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional to frequent twisting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, sitting, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Exposure to water, cleaning products, and beverage ingredients; appropriate PPE will be provided.
Schedule
Estimated 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
