Syndicated Leverage Finance - Associate I
About the role
Performs a wide range of complex analytical and high-level support functions. With limited supervision, applies analytical skills to provide consistent data and reporting support for Corporate & Investment Banking teams and deal teams. Produces high quality analysis and presentation materials. Provides management and oversight of Analyst pool to ensure the production of a high quality work product.
Responsibilities
- Build and understand complex financial models.
- Perform complex financial analysis with minimal oversight.
- Create high-impact presentation materials using PowerPoint, Excel, Word and other relevant software programs.
- Complete research and maintain information databases as required.
- Work well as part of a team in a high stress environment and under tight deadlines.
- Develop good working relationships with peers and senior bankers in the Corporate & Investment Bank and the rest of the organization.
- Manage priorities while working on a number of high priority opportunities simultaneously.
- Complete credit and corporate finance overview and analysis independently.
- Serve as support to the Managing Directors and be capable of making internal and external presentations to support the efforts of the Managing Directors on the team.
- Interact with all important constituencies in the course of executing and closing loan transactions.
- Ensure adherence to risk, compliance, confidentiality, and information barrier requirements across all workstreams.
- Perform other duties as assigned, adapting to new tasks or shifts in priorities as necessary to support your team’s and the company’s mission.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in Banking, Investment Banking, or Capital Markets (strong Analyst performance required for internal promotion).
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
- MBA typical but not required based on prior experience.
- Proven track record of contributing to the origination and closing of complex financial transactions as part of a team.
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 79, and Series 63 licenses (or ability to obtain within company policy).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Required Skills
- Emerging professional proficiency, generally acquired through 3-5 years of relevant work or internship experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skills; ability to build/review complex financial models and interpret results.
- Strong credit underwriting skills and sound corporate finance judgment.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and oral) with client-ready executive presence.
- Project management capability: prioritize competing deliverables, manage work plans, and coordinate across internal and external stakeholders in a high-pressure environment.
- Developing expertise in one or more industries; familiarity with market trends and key drivers.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities; ability to work independently and collaboratively within deal teams.
- Familiarity with financial databases and platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ).

Pay
The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location.
Schedule
This role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
