SYEP - Meriden Camp Counselor 2026

The CT Summer Youth Employment Program is intended to provide early work experiences for young people ages 14-24 that may not otherwise have this opportunity. There are limited opportunities available in the summer youth program. Please note that completing this application does not guarantee a placement. Application must be completed in full without omissions for consideration. Please provide/upload a copy of all required documents - social security card, birth certificate, picture ID.

Qualifications

• Eligibility Requirements for State Funding
• 14-24 years old as of July 1, 2026
• Must reside or attend school in Meriden
• Eligible for Free or Reduced School Meals Program (Meriden Public School Students are eligible for Free Lunch)
• Family Income within 185% of Poverty Income Levels
• A member of a family that receives Food Stamps
• Applicant is a foster child
• If youth has a documented disability, he/she is counted as a family of 1 and only applicant’s income is counted
• Income levels for possible 2026 State Summer Jobs Funding
• STATE Funds-185% Poverty Income Levels
• Levels of funding subject to change
