The CT Summer Youth Employment Program is intended to provide early work experiences for young people ages 14-24 that may not otherwise have this opportunity. There are limited opportunities available in the summer youth program. Please note that completing this application does not guarantee a placement. Application must be completed in full without omissions for consideration. Please provide/upload a copy of all required documents - social security card, birth certificate, picture ID.
Qualifications
- Eligibility Requirements for State Funding
- 14-24 years old as of July 1, 2026
- Must reside or attend school in Meriden
- Eligible for Free or Reduced School Meals Program (Meriden Public School Students are eligible for Free Lunch)
- Family Income within 185% of Poverty Income Levels
- A member of a family that receives Food Stamps
- Applicant is a foster child
- If youth has a documented disability, he/she is counted as a family of 1 and only applicant’s income is counted
- Income levels for possible 2026 State Summer Jobs Funding
- STATE Funds-185% Poverty Income Levels
- Levels of funding subject to change
